A student intending to become a professional in a particular genre may progress through the ISTD medal series and also the range of higher awards, in the student category. These may also be taken in the ‘opposite role’ and provide an excellent means of preparing all aspects of dance performance. A professional, qualified in another genre, may also take this route in any genre in which they wish to take a qualification.
A professional who is qualified in a particular genre may take a Dance Diploma in the same genre, in order to further develop their performance skills.

Please note that student division candidates are not eligible to enter amateur medallist competitions.
